The Coal Porters on tour…
These videos of three songs give you the vibe of the first shows The Coal Porters have performed live for audiences in four years; Two great audiences in both Birmingham and Guildford, twin đ»đ»fiddles, FIVE part harmonies, Sid the Squid nervously forgetting the line after the acapella break⊠what more could you want.
The above first video is from last nights hoppin’ show at The Keep in Guildford, Gospel Shore, which originally appeared on our album Find the One.
Next here is two minutes of Guy Clarkâs New Cut Road, our second setâs closer there in Guildford and things got kinda crazy.
You canât see the people in the rear standing and shouting but you can feel and I hope hear the Fats Waller/Zoot Money/Lovinâ Spoonful music âgood timeâ vibe.
The song has three singers, two of âem choosing Guildford as a good time to re-read Stanislavskiâs An Actor Prepares. So things got a little crazy as I said but I thought showing this side of our funky jams was worth doing.
Then we have our medley of Bill Monroeâs Wheel Hoss and our own Salad Days from our last album, No.6. The very first song played at our Birmingham show at the Kitchen Garden Cafe. The entire evening was a gas, gas, gas. Sold out too!
We go on stage in a minute, in London, in front of another full house and then the final show of this short tour is tomorrow, Saturday night, in Brighton….
⌠30/04 (Sat) â Brighton, The Prince Albert â Tickets
The Prince Albert, 48 Trafalgar Street, Brighton, East Sussex BN1 4ED
So if you wanna see the Coal Porters play âalt-bluegrassâ better get down there!
