Take My Name (Official Video)
After writing Everywhere, a song covered by Billy Bragg amongst others, Sid Griffin sat down to write a song with his longtime friend the late great Greg Trooper. Sid had an idea about a poor young man with nothing to offer the love of his life but starting a family…that is, sharing his last name and beginning anew…hence Take My Name.
The song only appeared on a Spanish compilation CD though it later popped up on Spotify, Tidal et al where it appeared as an extra track on the Coal Porters’ album Los London.
Unduly looked over, it now has a video to accompany it, a video dedicated to the huge talent and warm human spirit which was Greg Trooper.
